ASUS India has officially launched an ‘updated’ Zenfone Max in the country today. It is an upgraded variant of the previous Zenfone Max, which went on sale in January. According to the company, it is the currently the best selling device for them in India right now and hence they have tweaked the device and has released a ‘better’ phone today. Lets check out the specifications of the new model now.
ASUS Zenfone Max (ZC550KL) Specifications
The ASUS Zenfone Max features a 5.5-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) HD TFT IPS display. It is powered by a 1.5 GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor along with Adreno 405 GPU. It has 2 / 3 GB of LPDDR3 RAM and comes with 32 GB of internal memory, which is expandable up to 64 GB via microSD card. It runs on the latest Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow OS out of the box with Zen UI 2.0 on top of it.
The Max rocks a 13 megapixel rear camera with f/2.0 aperture, Real Tone flash and Laser Auto Focus. On the front, it has a 5 megapixel camera with f/2.0 aperture and 85-degree wide-angle lens for selfies and video calling. It supports Dual SIM, weighs 202 grams and is 10.55 mm thick.
On the connectivity front, it comes with 4G LTE, 3G HSPA+, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, USB OTG, GLONASS and GPS/aGPS. The phablet comes with a whopping 5,000 mAh non-removable polymer battery under the hood, which can be used to charge other devices as well.
The upgraded ASUS Zenfone Max is now available in Black, Orange, Blue and White color variants. It has been priced at Rs 9,999 for the 2GB RAM variant whereas the 3GB RAM model costs Rs 12,999 in India. ASUS India has also dropped the price of the old model to Rs 8,999. It will be sold via Flipkart, ASUS Exclusive Stores and other retail outlets across the country.
The launch of the new Zenfone Max, also saw the appointment of Bollywood diva – Sonakshi Sinha as the brand’s first-ever brand ambassador in India. Sonakshi will be a part of ASUS’ digital campaign, #LiveUnplugged and has already appeared in the digital-only video for Zenfone Max.
