ASUS Fonepad 8 (FE380CG) has been launched in India, which is the company’s latest tablet in the Fonepad series. The company also launched the latest Fonepad 7 Fe171CG at CES 2015 in Las Vegas couple of weeks ago. ASUS also launched the first smartphone with 4 GB of RAM, the Zenfone 2 and also the slimmest smartphone with 3x optical zoom camera, the Zenfone Zoom at CES 2015.

The ASUS Fonepad 8 (FE380CG) features a 8-inch (1280 x 800 pixels) HD IPS display with Anti-Fingerprint coating and also 5.06mm narrow bezel which has a screen-to-body ratio of 72.2%. It is powered by 1.33 GHz quad-core Intel Atom Z3560 processor along with PowerVR G6430 GPU. The tablet comes with 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal memory which can also be expanded up to 64 GB via microSD card. The device runs on Android 4.4 KitKat with the latest version of the ZenUI 2.0 on top of it. Hopefully it will get an Android 5.0 Lollipop update as well.
The ASUS Fonepad 8 comes with a 5-megapixel rear primary camera with LED flash which is capable of recording Full HD 1080p videos and a 2-megapixel front-facing camera for selfies and video calling, which can shoot HD (720p) videos. It is 8.9 mm thick and weighs 328 grams. The Fonepad 8 has dual SIM option with dual standby mode.
On the connectivity front, the ASUS Fonepad 8 includes 3G HSPA+ (with voice calling), Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS. The tablet packs in a 4,000 mAh battery under the hood.
The ASUS Fonepad 8 (FE380CG) will be available in Black and Gold colour variants and has been priced at Rs 13,999 in India. It will soon be available in ASUS Exclusive stores and Flipkart.
