ARCHOS announced 4G enabled smartphone and tablet at CES 2015

After smartphones like HTC Desire 826ZTE Grand X Max+LG G Flex2 and more, its time for ARCHOS. They have launched their 4G enable smartphone and tablets at their event. They have announced the ARCHOS Diamond 50, which is their top end smartphone in Diamond Series. Along with that they have also announced ARCHOS 80b Helium, a tablet belonging to Helium Series.

ARCHOS-50-DiamondSpeaking of the ARCHOS Diamond 50. It boasts a 5-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) IPS display. It comes with an Octa-Core Snapdragon 615 (ARM Cortex A53 at 1.5 GHz & 1 GHz) processor accompanied by Adreno 405 GPU. The smartphone comes with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal memory which can be further expanded with a MicroSD. ARCHOS Diamond 50 will feature a 8-megapixel front shooter and a 16-megapixel rear shooter. The device has 4G LTE support. Though the powerhouse of the device is bit less as compared to the specs, it just carries a 2700 mAH battery. The smartphone will come pre-loaded with Android Kitkat.


Coming to their 4G Tablet which will boast a 8-inch (1280 x 800 pixels) IPS display. It will be equipped with a 1.5GHz Quad-Core Mediatek MT8732 processor with 760 MP2 GPU. It will also have 1GB of RAM, 8GB of internal memory which can be further expanded to 64B. Speaking of the camera, the Tablet has 2-megapixel rear shooter and a VGA Front shooter. Though the device comes with 4G LTE option. It will be powered up by a 3,600 mAH battery. The Tablet will also come with Android Kitkat out of the box.

Loïc Poirier, General Director of ARCHOS, said during the launch,

In 2014, consumers don’t have access to high performance handsets from traditional smartphone vendors below £500. With the ARCHOS 50 Diamond, we are pushing forward the same advanced technology but we make it accessible to all consumers.

ARCHOS haven’t said that when they will be shipping these devices. The smartphone will be priced at 199.99 GBP while the tablet would carry a price tag of  149.99 GBP.
