Aquaris has launched two new smartphones – Aquaris E4.5 and E5 in India on Snapdeal and they run on Ubuntu Touch OS. Here, we will look at the specifications and features of Aquaris E5 Ubuntu Edition.
Aquaris E5 Ubuntu Edition Specifications
The Aquaris E5 Ubuntu Edition features a 5-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) HD IPS display which is protected by Dragontrail glass. It is powered by 1.3 GHz quad-core MediaTek processor with Mali 400-MP2 GPU. It has 1 GB of RAM and comes with 8 GB of internal memory which can also be expanded via microSD card. The device runs on Ubuntu Touch OS out of the box. It comes with Scopes with Indian users that include Zomato, Star Plus, Zee TV, NDTV, Times of India and Eros Now.
The Aquaris E5 Ubuntu Edition comes with a 8 megapixel rear primary camera with dual LED flash, f/2.2 aperture and can shoot 1080p Full HD videos. On the front, there is a 5 megapixel front-facing camera with f/2.4 aperture for selfies and video calling. It supports Dual SIM and also has a 3.5 mm audio jack, FM radio. It is 8.65 mm thick and weighs 134 grams.
On the connectivity front, the Aquaris E5 Ubuntu Edition includes 3G, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS. The smartphone packs in a 2,500 mAh battery under the hood.
The Aquaris E5 Ubuntu Edition is available in Black colour only and has been priced at Rs 13,499. It will go on sale by the end of August on Snapdeal in India. Recently, we saw Meizu launching MX4 Ubuntu Edition in China and Europe.
