Apple at the “Hey Siri, give us a hint.” event at the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium in San Francisco, California announced the new iPad mini 4 just by saying one line about it. “It comes with the internals of the iPad Air 2”. So lets take a look at the specifications and features of the new iPad mini.

The iPad mini 4 features a 7.9-inch (2048 x 1536) LED-backlit widescreen Fully Laminated Retina display with a pixel density of 326 ppi. It has a fingerprint-resistant oleophobic and antireflective coating. It is powered by a A8X chip with 2nd gen 64-bit architecture along with the M8 motion coprocessor. It runs on iOS 9 out of the box.
The iPad mini 4 rocks a 8 megapixel iSight camera on the back with f/2.4 aperture, 5 element lens. It can shoot Full HD 1080p videos at 30 fps and Slo-mo videos at 120 fps. On the front, there is a 1.2 megapixel HD front-facing camera with f/2.2 aperture for selfies and video calling. It can record HD (720p) videos. There is a Touch ID fingerprint sensor on the home button as well. It weighs 298.9 grams (WiFi) and 304 grams (WiFi + Cellular) and is 6.1 mm thick.
On the connectivity department, the new iPad mini comes with 4G LTE (optional), WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n with MIMO, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS and GLONASS (Cellular only). It has a 19.1 watt hour rechargeable lithium-polymer battery that promises of up to 10 hours of surfing the web on WiFi, watching videos or listening to music and up to 9 hours using cellular data network.
The Apple iPad mini 4 is available in Silver, Gold and Space Grey color variants and has been priced at US $399 for 16GB model, $499 for 64GB and $599 for 128GB WiFi variants. The 16GB, 64GB and 128GB WiFi + Cellular variants cost $529, $629 and $729 respectively. Apple has now discontinued the iPad mini 1 and also the iPad mini 2 starts at $269.
