After launching the new iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus on September 9 at a special event, Apple also showed off its new leather and silicon cases for both these new smartphones.
Apple launched new cases for iPhone 6 and 6 Plus which are crafted from hand-selected leather, which has been treated with airline dye, and they feature a microfiber interior to protect the phone and its new protruding lens. These leather cases are available in Black, Olive Brown, Midnight Blue, Soft Pink, and Product (RED) colour variants. They are quite similar to the ones that were launched with the iPhone 5s last year.
Apple also announced Silicon rubber case which are made to custom fit the new iPhones, alongside the leather cases. The company claims that these Silicon cases offer protection while “maintaining their incredibly slim form”. They fit comfortably around the volume and power buttons, and as well as the new curved corners. Also, there is a soft micro fibre lining inside the case.
The leather cases for the 4.7-inch iPhone 6 has been priced at $45, while leather cases for the 5.5-inch version are priced at $49. The Silicon cases for the 4.7-inch iPhone 6 has been priced at $35, whereas the 5.5-inch iPhone 6 Plus silicon cases are priced at $39. These official cases are overpriced, compared to third party manufacturers, and they should be available on September 19 along with iPhone 6, when it releases.
