Google has again done a good job. After the Gmail app this time its the Calendar. The Google Calendar has been updated with lots of new features and never forget the main attraction, the Material Design.
The new calendar app has got many new features. One such is that emails will be integrated into the calendar so that you stay updated with events, meetings, appointments and so on. This essentially means that if you make dinner reservations the new Calendar app will automatically add an entry in real-time by pulling the information from your email.
There has been a new addition to the calendar app. The feature is called Assist and as the name suggests you can make a guess at it. Assist will provide you relevant suggestions to make a calendar entry. It will suggest titles, people and places as you type, as well as adapt to your preferences over time. A new Schedule View will let you see a map of your event destination and include photos, cityscapes and illustrations of the surrounding area.
The new Calendar app is compatible with Android 4.1+ devices. Apart from that the bad news for others is that the app is just available for Android Lollipop at the moment but Google is planning to roll it out in Play Store in coming weeks. Till then all have to hold patience and wait for the new Calendar app.
