Android One Smartphones to be sold exclusively at online portals.

Back at the Google I/O event, Sundar Pichai has said that Android One devices would be coming at sub $100 mark and the brands going to make the hardware are Micromax, Karbonn and Spice. Earlier today we have seen a video teaser by Karbonn which hinted on the launch of Android One device on 15th September and the teaser focussed on the point that it would be exclusively available on Snapdeal. The other two brands will also be making Android One devices and Micromax will launch its smartphone on Amazon India, while Spice will launch its smartphone on Flipkart. All three smartphones will be launched in India on September 15 and will go on sale at 3:30PM.

Micromax’s teaser poster has a tagline, “Can refresh with the Smartest ONE,” which seems like a subtle indication towards the Android One smartphone. A part sketch of a smartphone is seen on the poster, which resembles what Google showed off at I/O earlier this year.

Whereas the Spice’s teaser, on the other hand, has a sketch of a smartphone along with the tagline, “Hold your breath for something amazing coming your way.”

The Android One device from Micromax will have  a 4.5-inch display, MediaTek processor, dual-SIM card slots and a removable SD card and the device from Spice features a 4.5-inch display with quad-core 1.3 GHz processor along with 1 GB of RAM. The device will have Dual-SIM and 3G capabilities too. The devices from other vendors will also sport similar specifications.
