Google had introduced Android One devices back in September last year, with three smartphones from different OEMs priced around USD 100. Google’s aim was to provide timely OTA updates to low-end devices but they have messed it up completely.
If you purchased an Android One device in order to get the latest updates, you must be wondering where the hell is “Android 5.0 Lollipop” update. I mean that is one of the main reason why you purchased an Android One smartphone. You will be more upset when you see the likes of Xolo One and Motorola Moto G getting the update before you. Moto G getting updated before Android One is acceptable but Xolo One getting Lollipop update? Oh, heck! This is absolute rubbish, Google.
We have got information that Google has screwed up big time in respect to the ‘Android One Lollipop Update’. They decided to make it from the scratch and completely messed it up. Now, the team is redoing the Android 5.0 Lollipop ROM for Android One. Thus, the update has been delayed by a long time and will arrive by the end of January or early February, 2015.
Android One users, do not lose patience! You’ll eventually get the Android 5.0 Lollipop update and hopefully it won’t have any bugs. Till then, you can flash CyanogenMod 11 on your devices as Cyanogen Inc has released it officially.
Google, please do not screw up with the updates from next time. You already do not have a good track record providing ‘Updates’. Don’t ruin it further. To recap, the Micromax Canvas A1, Spice Dream Uno and Karbonn Sparkle V Android One smartphones are available on Amazon, Flipkart and Snapdeal respectively.
