Amazon Fire Kids Edition tablet launched for USD 99.99

Amazon Fire Kids Edition tablet has been officially announced yesterday along with the new Fire (2015) low-budget tablet. Lets take a look at its specifications.

The Amazon Fire Kids Edition tablet features a 7-inch (1024 x 600 pixels) WSVGA IPS display that has a pixel density of 170 ppi. It is powered by 1.3 GHz quad-core processor. It has 1 GB of RAM and comes with 8 GB of internal memory which can also be expanded up to 128 GB via microSD card. The device runs on Fire OS 5 based on Android Lollipop out of the box. It comes with an updated kid-proof case, one year of Amazon FreeTime Unlimited, 20,000 hand-curated and age-appropriate websites and YouTube videos.

The Amazon Fire Kids Edition comes with a 2 megapixel primary rear camera that is capable of recording 720p HD videos. On the front, it has a 0.3 megapixel (VGA) front-facing camera for selfies and video calling. The tablet is 10.6 mm thick and weighs 313 grams. It has a 3.5 mm audio jack, integrated speaker and built-in microphone.

The Fire Kids Edition tablet includes Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth with A2DP, and USB 2.0 as connectivity options. The tablet claims to have a battery life of up to 7 hours with mixed usage. It also comes with 2 years of worry-free guarantee.

The Amazon Fire Kids Edition tablet is available with Pink or Blue color Kid-proof Case and has been priced at US $99.99 (INR Rs 6,585 approximately). It can now be ordered on Amazon and the device starts shipping from September 30. The company also announced Fire HD 8 and Fire HD 10 tablets.
