Amazon Fire HD 10 tablet launched, price starts at USD 229.99

Amazon has announced two new tablets in addition to the new Amazon Fire (2015) and an upgraded Fire Kids Edition. We already had a look at the Fire HD 8 and here we will look at the specifications and features of the Amazon Fire HD 10 tablet.


Amazon Fire HD 10 tablet Specifications

The Amazon Fire HD 10 tablet features a 10-inch (1280 x 800 pixels) HD IPS display that has a pixel density of 149 ppi. It is powered by 1.5 GHz quad-core MediaTek MT8135 processor along with PowerVR G6200 GPU. It has 1 GB of RAM and comes with 16 or 32 GB of internal memory which can also be expanded up to 128 GB via microSD card. The device runs on Fire OS 5 based on Android Lollipop out of the box. It comes with the Amazon Underground app store that offers over $10,000 worth apps, games and in-app purchases for free.

The Amazon Fire HD 10 comes with a 5 megapixel primary rear camera that is capable of recording 1080p Full HD videos. On the front, it has a 720p HD front-facing camera for selfies and video calling. The tablet is 7.7 mm thick and weighs 432 grams. It has a 3.5 mm audio jack, integrated stereo speaker with Dolby Audio. It also comes with an accelerometer and gyroscope.

The Fire HD 10 tablet includes Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac (Dual Band), Bluetooth with A2DP, and USB 2.0 as connectivity options. The tablet claims to have a battery life of up to 8 hours with mixed usage.

The Amazon Fire HD 8 tablet is available in Black and White color variants and has been priced at US $229.99 (INR Rs 15,150 approximately) for the 16GB variant and US $259.99 (INR Rs 17,125 approximately) for the 32GB variant. It can now be ordered on Amazon and the device starts shipping from September 30.
