Alcatel POP 4S with Android Marshmallow goes official

Alcatel has announced three new devices under its ‘POP’ series at the Mobile World Congress (MWC). They belong to the low-end to mid-range category – POP 4, POP 4+ and POP 4S. We will have a look at the specifications and features of Alcatel POP 4S here.


Alcatel POP 4S Specifications

The Alcatel POP 4S features a 5.5-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) Full HD IPS display that has a pixel density of 401 ppi. It is powered by a 1.8 GHz octa-core MediaTek P10 (MT6755) 64-bit processor along with Mali-T860 MP2 GPU. It has 2 GB of RAM and comes with 16 GB of internal memory which can also be expanded up to 64 GB via microSD card. The device runs on the latest Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS out of the box.

The POP 4S comes with a 13 megapixel primary rear camera with Dual LED flash, f/2.0 aperture and Full HD 1080p video recording. It has a 5 megapixel front-facing camera with LED flash and 84.4-degree wide-angle lens for selfies and video calling. It is 7.99 mm thick, comes with a 3.5 mm audio jack and FM Radio. It also has a fingerprint sensor.

The POP 4S includes 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2, USB OTG, NFC and GPS/A-GPS as connectivity options. The phablet packs in a 2,960 mAh battery under the hood.


The Alcatel POP 4S can be purchased with four type of back covers – Leather, Wood, Baby Skin and Hairline-Brushed. A JBL headset is being bundled out of the box. Pricing and availability has not been announced yet.

The company has also announced the Alcatel Idol 4 and Alcatel Idol 4S.
