Alcatel POP 4 smartphone with Android Marshmallow goes official

Alcatel has announced three new devices under its ‘POP’ series at the Mobile World Congress (MWC). They belong to the low-end to mid-range category – POP 4, POP 4+ and POP 4S. We will have a look at the specifications and features of Alcatel POP 4 here.


Alcatel POP 4 Specifications

The Alcatel POP 4 features a 5-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) HD IPS display that has a pixel density of 294 ppi. It is powered by a 1.1 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 210 processor along with Adreno 304 GPU. It has 1 GB of RAM and comes with 8 GB of internal memory which can also be expanded up to 32 GB via microSD card. The device runs on the latest Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS out of the box.

The POP 4 comes with a 8 megapixel primary rear camera with LED flash and HDR support. It has a 5 megapixel front-facing camera with LED flash and 84.4-degree wide-angle lens for selfies and video calling. It is 7.9 mm thick, comes with a 3.5 mm audio jack and FM Radio.

The POP 4 includes 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, USB OTG and GPS as connectivity options. The smartphone packs in a 2,500 mAh battery under the hood.

The Alcatel POP 4 can be purchased with four type of back covers – Leather, Wood, Baby Skin and Hairline-Brushed. A JBL headset is being bundled out of the box. Pricing and availability has not been announced yet.

The company has also announced the Alcatel Idol 4 and Alcatel Idol 4S.
