Alcatel has announced a mammoth Android tablet at IFA 2015 in Berlin. It is known as the Alcatel OneTouch Xess that comes with a whopping 17.3-inch display and a stylus. Lets check out the rest of the specifications.
Alcatel OneTouch Xess Specifications
The Alcatel OneTouch Xess features a mammoth 17.3-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) Full HD 10-point multi-touch display, with a pixel density of just 127 ppi. It is powered by a 1.5 GHz octa-core MediaTek MT8783T processor. It has 2 GB of RAM and comes with 32 GB of internal memory which is expandable via microSD card. It runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop out of the box.
The tablet comes with a built-in kick stand, stylus and a slide-out carrying handle. The stand is capable of rotating in different modes – 30 degrees, 50 degrees and 75 degrees, according to the comfort of the user. It comes along with separate accessories including smart dock and wall mount options.
To take advantage of the massive display, Alcatel has developed a SketchBook app with different brushes, colors and effects, that can be used with the built-in stylus to showcase some creativity. It is just 9.15 mm thick in spite of being a huge tablet and comes with hands-free gesture control that can be used to control the screen just by waving at it. This feature is specially targeted at culinary enthusiasts.
The Alcatel OneTouch Xess tablet comes with a 3.5 mm audio jack and a dual 3-watt JBL speakers. It comes with WiFi 802.11 b/g/n and Bluetooth 4.0 as connectivity options. The tablet packs in a massive 10,000 mAh battery under the hood.
Alcatel OneTouch has not announced the availability or pricing of the device yet. It remains a prototype device or sees the light of the day in the consumer market, remains to be seen.
