Alcatel Idol 4 now selling in USA for $199.99

Alcatel Idol 4 was announced back in February 2016, along with the Idol 4S. It is now selling in USA via Cricket Wireless for $199.99. The smartphone also comes with a VR (Virtual Reality) headset. Lets check out the specifications and features of the device below.

The Alcatel Idol 4 features a 5.2-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) Full HD IPS LTPS display that comes with Precog UI (touchless control), Live UI and Parallax UI. It is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 (Quad 1.7 GHz + Quad 1.2 GHz) processor along with Adreno 405 GPU. It has 3 GB of RAM and comes with 16 GB of internal memory which can also be expanded up to 512 GB via microSD card. The device runs on the latest Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS out of the box. It comes with a glass back along with a metal frame and has a in-mould spin-effect texture.

The Idol 4 comes with a 13 megapixel primary rear camera with dual-tone LED flash. It has a 8 megapixel front-facing camera with LED flash for selfies and video calling. It is 7.1 mm thick and weighs 135 grams. Alcatel has patterned with JBL and Waves to bring superior audio experience and thus the device comes with dual 2.6 watt speakers, NXP’s TFA9890 Smart Power Amplifier, Hi-Fi Surround-sound for the J22 JBL headphones. It comes with both automatic and manual audio presets. You also get BOOM Key Experience Booster and FM Radio.

The Idol 4 includes 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac (Dual Band), Bluetooth 4.2, NFC, USB OTG and GPS with A-GPS as connectivity options. The smartphone packs in a 2,610 mAh battery under the hood which supports fast charging. The Alcatel Idol 4 is available in Gold, Dark Gray, Metal Silver and Rose Gold color variants.

The phone is reversible in three ways. “The interface rights itself no matter if the users picks it up right side up or upside down. In addition, it is reversible left to right: stereo sound is always on the correct side, even when the phone is flipped. And the strategically placed speaker grill ensures that sound is unobstructed, whether the phone is facing up or turned over,” said Alcatel.
