Acer Liquid M220 Windows 8.1 phone announced ahead of MWC 2015

Acer was supposed to announce a Windows 10 phone today ahead of Mobile World Congress, the company has announced Acer Liquid M220 which runs on Windows 8.1 OS, and it is upgradable to Windows 10 when it comes out. Acer has also announced the Liquid Jade Z, Liquid Z220 and Liquid Z520 smartphones.

Acer Liquid M220 Specifications

The Acer Liquid M220 features a 4-inch (800 x 480 pixels) WVGA display which is powered by 1.2 GHz dual-core. It comes with 512 MB of RAM and has 4 GB of internal memory which can be expanded via microSD card. It runs on Windows 8.1 OS and is upgradable to Windows 10 OS for free. Microsoft has already said Windows 10 supports phones with 512 MB RAM.

On the camera front, the Acer Liquid M220 comes with a 5 megapixel rear camera with LED. It has a 2 megapixel front-facing camera for selfies and video calling. It supports Dual SIM feature. The phone is 9.8 mm thick.

The Acer Liquid M220 comes with 3G HSPA+, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth and GPS as connectivity options. The smartphone is powered by a 1,300 mAh battery under the hood.

The Acer Liquid M220 Windows phone is available in Mystic Black and Pure White and has been priced at US $88 (INR Rs 5,400 approximately). It will be sold in the month of April via selected EMEA retailers. Here’s what you can expect at Mobile World Congress 2015.
