Acer Liquid Jade Z smartphone announced at MWC 2015

Acer was supposed to announce an Android phone couple with a Windows 10 phone and a wearable device ahead of MWC 2015. The company has unveiled the Acer Liquid Jade Z, which is the successor of the Liquid Jade launched last year.


Lets have a look at the specifications of Acer Liquid Jade Z.

The Acer Liquid Jade Z features a 5-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) IPS OGS display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection on top of it. The smartphone is powered by 1.5 GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6732 processor with Mali-T760 GPU. It comes with 1 GB of RAM and has 8 GB of internal memory which can be expanded via microSD card. It runs on Android 4.4 KitKat and hopefully will be upgraded to Android 5.0 Lollipop OS soon.

On the camera front, the Acer Liquid Jade Z comes with a 13 megapixel rear camera with LED flash, f/1.8 aperture and can shoot Full HD 1080p videos. It has a 5 megapixel front-facing camera for selfies and video calling. It supports Dual SIM (nano SIM) feature. The phone is 7.9 mm thick and weighs 120 grams.

The Liquid Jade Z has Dual Shot feature which will let the users make a collage of simultaneous shots from the front and rear cameras for picture-in-picture and video-in-video captures. Bright Magic will allow users to get brighter photos even in low light as well as shooting six in a row and integrate them into a single brighter image. Another feature called AcerEXTEND will empower the users to take full control of their smartphone via cable or wirelessly using their Windows-based PC.


The Acer Liquid Jade Z comes with 4G LTE, 3G HSPA+, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth and GPS as connectivity options. The smartphone is powered by a 2,300 mAh battery under the hood.

The Acer Liquid Jade Z is available in White and Black colour variants and has been priced at 199 Euros (US $220 / INR Rs 13,700 approximately). The smartphone would be rolled out in EMEA region starting this month.
