50,000 units of Redmi Note to go on sale on December 2 on Flipkart at 2pm

Xiaomi had launched the Redmi Note in India in an event in New Delhi on November 24 along with Redmi Note 4G. We had already said it will go on sale on December 2 long back which was confirmed officially by the company. Register for Redmi Note here.

Xiaomi will be putting up 50,000 units of Redmi Note priced at Rs 8,999 up for the first flash sale which will take place on December 2 at 2pm on Flipkart. You need to pre-register (started on November 25 at 6pm) yourself to participate in the flash sale just like you had to do with Redmi 1s and Xiaomi Mi 3. We expect these units to be sold out in couple of seconds as there has been a lot of demand for the phablet which has had a delayed launch.

Xiaomi Redmi Note is a budget phablet from the Chinese manufacturer. It has a 5.5-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) LED IPS Display with 267 ppi. The display is protected by Gorilla Glass 2 covering.  The phablet is powered by 1.7 GHz Octa-core MTK MT6592 processor and has Mali 450 GPU. Redmi Note weighs 199 grams and is 9.45 mm in thickness.

Redmi Note comes with 2 GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage which can be expanded up to 32 GB via microSD card. It will come preloaded with Android 4.3 JellyBean with MIUI v5 on top and will be upgraded to MIUI 6 along with Android Lollipop in the future, hopefully.

On the camera front, it has a 13-megapixel rear camera and 5-megapixel front facing camera for selfies and video calling. The rear camera has f/2.2 aperture lens and can record 1080P videos. Xiaomi Redmi Note comes with 3,100 mAh lithium polymer removable battery under the hood. It is a dual SIM phablet with only one SIM supporting 3G. The Xiaomi Redmi Note includes 3G (WCDMA)/2G (GSM), Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n/, Bluetooth 4.0 LE, GPS + AGPS as connectivity options.

If you’re looking to skip the Redmi Note in favour of Redmi Note 4G priced at Rs 9,999, you need to wait till the end of this month. The Redmi Note 4G will go on sale around Christmas and as you know we will be the first ones to let you know the exact date. Also, if you’re looking to get your hands on the Xiaomi Mi 4, you need to wait till end of January or possibly first week of February.
