Lenovo announced the A6000 at CES 2015 in Las Vegas, which was specially introduced for the Indian market to be sold exclusively on Flipkart. It was launched in India on January 16 for Rs 6,999 and first flash sale took place on Jan 28, second flash sale on Feb 4 and third on Feb 11 and fourth on Feb 18. Registrations for the fifth flash started at 6pm on February 18 and ended yesterday.
The Lenovo A6000’s first pilot flash sale took place at 2pm on January 28 with 10,000 units and sold out in 2 seconds. The second flash sale with 20,000 units took place on February 4 and sold out in 3 seconds. The third flash sale took place with 30,000 units on February 11 and sold out in 4 seconds. The fourth flash sale took place with 20,000 units on February 18 and sold out in 4 seconds. Today, only 25,000 units will be up for grabs for the fifth flash sale at 2 PM on Flipkart.
To successfully purchase the device, login to your Flipkart account 10 minutes prior to the sale i.e., at 1:50pm. You need some luck on your side, as the device got sold out in 2, 3, 4 and 4 seconds in consecutive weeks. On the fifth week, Lenovo is putting up only 25,000 units for sale and we are guessing it will get sold out within 3-4 seconds.
Lenovo A6000 Specifications
The Lenovo A6000 features a 5-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) HD IPS display which is powered by 1.2 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor along with Adreno 306 GPU. It has 1 GB of RAM and comes with 8 GB of internal memory which can also be expanded via microSD card. The device runs on Android 4.4 KitKat with the company’s Vibe 2.0 UI on top of it. Hopefully it will get an Android 5.0 Lollipop update as well.
The Lenovo A6000 comes with a 8-megapixel auto-focus rear primary camera with LED flash. On the front, it has a 2-megapixel front-facing camera for selfies and video calling. The smartphone is 8.2 mm thick and weighs 128 grams. It has dual SIM and both fits in microSIM.
The Lenovo A6000 includes 4G LTE (TD-LTE 2300 MHz & FDD-LTE 1800 MHz), 3G, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS as connectivity options. The smartphone packs in a 2,300 mAh battery under the hood.
Recently, the company launched the P70 in China with a whopping 4,000 mAh battery, S90 in India priced at Rs 19,990 and has also revealed their revenue of the third quarter. Lenovo also unveiled the P90, Vibe X2 Pro, Vibe Band VB10 and Vibe Xtension Selfie Flash at CES 2015 in Las Vegas.
